Tupelo Honey

Having arrived on the Cincinnati music scene over three years ago, Tupelo Honey has become one of the city's favorite folk rock bands. Their songs are a mix of simple melodies powered by lyrics evoking a myriad of emotion on the part of their audiences. They have captured the harmonic grace of the Indigo Girls, Dixie Chics, Patty Griffin, and Janis Joplin to produce the unique sound that is signature "Tupelo Honey."

Winner of the 2007 Cincinnati Entertainment Award in the Folk-Americana category, the band is regularly playing on WEBN, WNKU and WVXU. They were also recently honored to sing the national anthem at the Kentucky Motor Speedway and were featured on WXIX Channel 19.

The band is fronted by songwriters Heather Turner and Katie Wefer, both of whom provide lead vocals and guitar. Other members include Scott Risner on mandolin and lead guitar, Stephen Anderson on bass, and Daniel Peterson on drums and percussion.

Tupelo Honey has played at top venues in Cincinnati such as the Southgate House, the Madison Theatre, and various festivals such as Mid Point Music Festival, Oktoberfest and Taste of Cincinnati.
